WHAT IS BJJ ALL ABOUT?

BJJ is a martial art that focuses on grappling and ground based fighting. It was designed to help smaller people defend against bigger, stronger, heavier opponents by using leverage, momentum and a range of techniques. Fights are taken to the ground and opponents are submitted using techniques such as chokes and joint locks. BJJ is used in both Gi and No-Gi sport Jiu-jitsu tournaments and in mixed martial arts. Rolling or sparring is always a large part of training BJJ where techniques are practiced and perfected. The benefits of training BJJ regularly are huge on both your body and your mind! Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is not only brilliant for improving your fitness and helping you lose body fat, it also can help improve your self-confidence, relieve stress and is an excellent form of self-defense.
